STAIR-CASES
Beirut depends on the individuals who live by consuming the signs of the city due to a lack of urban reproductive system.
AIM
Find the urban rituals of our contemporary city that may offer  means of restructuring the city. Develop rituals  group work  since it is a definition of your generation, therefore recent / ritual your rituals. Example: for some, internet is part of their rituals, a completely different  world, virtual world that  is not physically related to the city, (architecturally, economically, consumptino, exchange... - (internet because it can allow u to travel without commuting (it obliterates the city): dress up go out , walk drive, get in, dialogue, find, out again, stumble on a staircase etc...) the ‘narguile’sback again, but more as a trand.. tric trac cha’y..../  a ritual is based on a myth
start by making a list of your own rituals.
An urban dweller appropriates the city he lives in. He deciphers but must also write each new interpretative framework. Find a way to translate your interpretation within your own frame of work
justify your choice of such a language.
HOW TO GO ABOUT IT:
1- You  would be looking for the integral part of the city, the invisible to the untrained eye
2- See if there is a link between a staircase and another that would allow you to define  one or several ‘réseaux’ (network). Write down the rules of ‘ intima’ ’ for another  staircase can come along from a neighboring study.
separation     alignment        cohesion
THE INTERVENTION / THE APPROACH
1- Keeping in mind that the intervention would mainly occur between the physical elements and their signification the space and its laws & program.
2- The effectiveness of your intervention lies in its economy of construction, for it relies  on the abundance of elements already existing in the city.
